Practice makes perfect at the Van Holten Primary School.
There were 21 students whose practice methods resulted in their dedication and commitment to respect during the Week of Respect at Van Holten and the entire school district.
The Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District as well as all public schools in New Jersey have recognized the Week of Respect from Monday, October 7 through Friday, October 11.
The Week of Respect is in accordance with the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act, a New Jersey law that was signed into effect in 2011 to combat bullying in public schools.
The law requires that New Jersey public schools acknowledge the importance of social and emotional learning while emphasizing age-appropriate instruction that will focus on preventing harassment, intimidation, and bullying (HIB).
Those 21 kind Van Holten students were honored with certificates and letters of appreciation during a ceremony at the school on Friday, October 11.
Staci Aquanno, the Van Holten School Counselor, coordinated the week’s project and handed out the certificates to the worthy students.
Van Holten Principal George Rauh, who attended the ceremony, commended his fine students.
“These Van Holten students were recognized for demonstrating "RESPECT" in various ways here at school. Their efforts create a warm, positive atmosphere and culture within our school community,” Principal Rauh said.
He added:
“The students deserve a big husky "WOOF."
