wether assembly at jfk

Young meteorologists gained a valuable lesson on weather at the John F. Kennedy Primary School on Tuesday, March 3.

Veteran broadcast meteorologist John Marshall presented his weather forecast when he visited JFK students to share his passion for weather! Students learned about various types of weather, data collection techniques, and how John reports live on television.

Mr. Marshall, who spent 26 years delivering weather forecasts in New York City for CBS, NBC and Fox stations, developed his own road-show weather station.

The 3rd Grade students attended an assembly at JFK to watch his “John’s Weather Tour.”

According to his website, Mr. Marshall is the owner of John Marshall Weather LLC, which provides educators and students with school weather assemblies (in person or virtual) tailored for early elementary students through 8th graders, including the mobile weather studio, aka the green screen.

Kim Cook, a 3rd Grade Teacher at JFK, joined her students during the weather assembly.

“ John made this an immersive experience for students by bringing in his own weather station, as well as a mock-TV studio to show the green screen magic,” Ms. Cook said.

The students who attended the weather assembly were from the 3rd Grade classes taught by Angela Randazzo, Maureen Brooks, Elizabeth. Lo Piccolo and Wayne Segal.
