An art gallery showcasing brilliant work by students of all grades in the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District was staged on Thursday, June 4.

The art gallery was actually the cafeteria and small gymnasium at Bridgewater-Raritan High School.

These rooms, filled with prized paintings, drawings, and sculptures, represented the Visual Art Exhibit, the fourth and final presentation in the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District’s 2026 Festival of the Arts.

The small gymnasium featured the works of the senior students from Bridgewater-Raritan High School, while the cafeteria included splendid works from more high school students as well as the artists from the Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School, the Eisenhower and Hillside Intermediate Schools, and the Adamsville, Bradley Gardens, Crim, Hamilton, John F Kennedy, Milltown, and Van Holten Primary Schools.

An estimated crowd of 2,000 poured into the cafeteria and gymnasium all evening to take a close-up look at the fine workings of the school district’s highly regarded visual arts program.

One of the guests was Matt McCarthy, the Supervisor for Arts Education for the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District.

“What a great way to close a phenomenal year of Bridgewater-Raritan arts! It’s great to see so many members of our community come together and celebrate our student artists. Spending time looking at images can be a joyous experience and this show was a feast for the eyes,’ Mr. McCarthy said.

He further shared his feelings about the finished products.

“The work on display is more than just pretty pictures; they are each the result of deep questioning and problem-solving. The art studio is a place where students can find connections and reflect on all their experiences and learning.”

The 2026 Festival of the Arts presented the Chorus Concert, the Orchestra Concert, and the Band Concert, all performed in March.
