Spirited staff, parents, and students were all hatched together in the nest at Hillside Intermediate School on the evening of Thursday, January 22.

The Hillside Intermediate School’s highly popular Night at the Nest was staged once again before the usual enthusiastic participants and audience in the school’s gymnasium.

The Night at the Nest is an annual volleyball tournament between the Hillside faculty and Hillside parents, as well as a community event organized by the Hillside PTO.

Bernadette Andersen, the Hillside PTO Vice President Chairs, summed up the evening of fun and games.

“Both teams showed impressive teamwork, with teachers diving for saves and parents delivering powerful serves. Students packed the bleachers, enthusiastically cheering for their favorite players. Ten students were even selected to play in the second match, where they helped the parents' team score a victory.”

“After three games, including a tie in the first match, the teachers’ team edged out a narrow victory, but the real victory was the sense of school spirit on display,” Ms. Andersen said.

She also reported that proceeds from the event will support both the 5th and 6th Grade send-off events at the end of the school year.
