Hllside choir concert

The chorus students at the Hillside Intermediate School rose to the occasion.

The Hillside Intermediate School Spring Chorus Concert was performed three times before an entertained audience on Wednesday, May 7, and Thursday, May 8.

And to match their theme, the performances of the 5th and 6th Grade students resulted in a rise in approval from the audiences.

The 5th Graders sang to the family and friends on the evening of Wednesday, May 7. Then they joined forces with the 6th Grade choir to present a sparkling show during an assembly on the morning of May 8, attended by schoolmates, staff, and some family members.

On the evening of May 8, the 6th Grade sang for their family and friends to close the two-day shows.

All the concerts were produced in a Hillside gymnasium overflowing with spectators.

They all performed for their dedicated conductors–Hillside Choir Director Tony Sgro and fellow Chorus and Music Teacher Danielle Kida. Student Teacher Shannon Leff also led the students during the concerts.

The energetic and passionate Mr. Sgro shared his review of the performances.

"This year’s spring chorus concerts, themed 'Rise Up,' are a testament to our students' determination and spirit. Through powerful songs and heartfelt performances, they are sharing a message of courage and hope. It’s a joy to see them come together and rise up through music,” Mr. Sgro said.

Dr. Tali Axelrod, Hillside’s Principal, was among the delighted spectators.

“Our 5th and 6th grade chorus concerts have been absolutely outstanding—I’m incredibly proud of our students for their performance and deeply grateful to Mr. Sgro, Ms. Leff, and Ms. Kida for the excellent preparation that made it possible.”
