ms spring assemblies

An enthusiastic and spectacular showing was performed when the annual Spring Music Assemblies were staged at the Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School on Friday, June 13.

The Middle School auditorium was buzzing on the final Friday of the school year when a total of 11 musical groups performed before an audience that included Middle School students, staff and administrators and school district officials.

This lively concert series has been a tradition at the Middle School for over 25 years.

This year’s edition produced energy—- and some sweet sounds.

The Faculty Choir sang twice—and quite well— under the guidance of Middle School Choral Director Gabriele Hingelberg, who also conducted her Chorale and Bel Canto groups.

Caty Butler, the Middle School 8th Grade Orchestra Director, conducted her 8th Grade Orchestra, Lunch Orchestra, Symphony, and 8th Grade Modern groups. Tim Nuzzetti, the 7th Grade Orchestra Director, guided his 7th Grade student musicians.

Barron Caromano, the 8th Grade Band Director, led his 8th Grade Band and Jazz Band while Ashlen Udell, the 8th Grade Band Director, conducted the 7th Grade Band, Chamber Groups and Wind Ensemble.

The audience included Matt McCarthy, the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District Supervisor for Arts Education, who applauded the final concert of the school year.

“What a joyous way to celebrate the end of the school year. These groups sound better than they have sounded all year,” Mr. McCarthy said. “Having the entire student body gathered to perform and appreciate great music is a perfect expression of the spirit that drives these programs: music is for everyone!”
