Health & Physical Education

The Bridgewater-Raritan Health and Physical Education Department's health education program curriculum aligns with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards for Comprehensive Health and Physical Education. Through the successful completion of these required health education courses students will be able to demonstrate real world applications of the knowledge and skills needed to lead healthy, resilient lifestyles. Students will also learn how to make informed decisions regarding the health and well-being of self and others. Within each course students will learn to cultivate positive relationships, communicate honestly and respectfully, work cooperatively, value and express creatively, and challenge themselves.

The Bridgewater-Raritan Health and Physical Education Department's Physical Education program is aligned with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards for Comprehensive Health and Physical Education. The HPE Department is committed to educating our students to become lifelong learners of wellness by participating in activities that encourage good health and appropriate social skills and that promote physical fitness in and outside the educational settings. Bridgewater-Raritan students must be provided with opportunities to engage in a physical education program that will develop the necessary skills to participate in individual and team sports and that foster a positive attitude towards physical activities. Students will experience a coeducational physical education program involving large group, team, dual, cooperative, and individual activities.
