Hillside students learn to bake so that they can perform acts of kindness

Students at Hillside Intermediate School baked bread so that they can break bread.

The 5th and 6th Grade students at Hillside participated in the King Arthur’ “Bake for Good” assembly on Tuesday, March 28.

According to Christina King, who is a Technology Teacher at Hillside, the King Arthur Baking Company offers a free outreach program that features three goals:

Learn

Bake

Share

Hillside students learned the math and science of how to bake a bread from scratch.

With supplies presented from King Arthur, the students bake the bread from the recipes at home. There the students bake two loaves—one for their family and one to share with someone in need as an act of kindness.
