“Work Hard and Be Kind!”
June 3, 2020
Dear Hillside Family:
As we prepare for June, and the closing of the school year, we want to share the following information with you. Instruction will continue through the last day of school, June 23rd. In order to be able to close out the school year, please ensure that your child has turned in all late work by June 15th. If your child is struggling, and/or missing multiple assignments, please reach out to your child's counselor or teacher for assistance.
While instruction will continue in Related Arts and Related Arts areas through the end of the year, students will receive either a Pass or NG (no grade) at the end of marking period 4. This includes World Language.
We recognize how challenging Distance Learning has been for some students and families, and have worked to be flexible and make adjustments to assist students during this difficult time. As we continue until the end of the school year, teachers will be providing two “live” sessions per week, so that we can continue to make connections with students; this is so important, especially right now. We strongly encourage students to attend the live sessions if possible. Besides the instructional value of “live” instruction, this is being done for emotional and social support of students because we know that the lack of socialization creates stress and a sense of isolation that we are all feeling.
We are working with PNC Bank to process field trip refunds, and will notify Hillside families once the refunds are ready.
